Hue

Hue is a medium size city in the center of coastal Vietnam.  It is on the tourist map because it was the imperial capital between 1802 and 1945.  It is a nice town on its own and there are some great ancient sites to experience the history of Vietnam.  I rented a motorcycle for the day and visited some of the places on my tourist map.  It is also nice to ride off into the country and see the smaller roads and farms along the way.
Three nights in Hue was a good amount of time.  You can always stay longer and just hang out

The city from my hotel room balcony

One of the main streets.  It was Buddha's birthday and there was lots going on

Hue has a beautiful river passing the length of the city - Perfume River
At the ancient tomb

Still at the tomb.  It was a super hot hot day.  But you get used to it and the heat becomes no problem

The Royal Tomb was the most interesting place I visited in Hue
Also visited the giant Citadel

A lot of the Citadel has been reproduced
The pagoda was good to see.  Even Buddhists need material possessions
Dinner time was a street vendor with a small shop.  Customers came by for take-out also
I'm pretty good at saying "I'll have whatever you got"....

The other customers seemed to be enjoying it

No talking after the food arrived

Fish Soup....I can read only a few words in Vietnamese....and if I see Ca I know there may be fish soup to be had
